Why We're Making This Change

For years, our children have lived in traditional dormitory-style housing with large rooms and many beds. While safe, this environment makes it difficult for children to form deep connections and experience true family life.

We're transitioning to a pod family system where groups of 6 children will live together in small, home-like environments. This approach has been proven to provide better emotional development, stronger relationships, and improved life outcomes.

Every child deserves to feel like they belong to a family, not an institution. This project will make that possible.

The Benefits

Small family-style living creates profound positive impacts on children's development and wellbeing

Real Family Environment

Children form genuine sibling-like bonds in groups of 6, creating lasting relationships and a true sense of belonging.

Individual Attention

Smaller groups allow caregivers to focus on each child's unique needs, personality, and dreams.

Better Development

Research shows children in family-style care develop stronger emotional intelligence and social skills.

Life Skills

Children learn cooking, budgeting, and household management in a natural home setting.

Dignity & Privacy

Each child has personal space and the dignity of living in a home, not an institution.

Community Connection

Pod families interact with each other, creating a supportive village atmosphere.

Our Plan

Phase 1: Design & Planning
Working with architects and child development experts to design warm, functional pod homes that accommodate 6 children plus caregivers.

Phase 2: Fundraising
Securing resources through donations, grants, and partnerships to build multiple family pod homes.

Phase 3: Construction
Building the pod homes on our property, creating a village-style community where families can thrive.

Phase 4: Training
Preparing caregivers for the family-style model through specialized training in trauma-informed care and child development.

Phase 5: Transition
Carefully moving children to their new homes with attention to compatibility and emotional support.

Project Progress

Work on the new hostel is officially underway. Construction has started and continues steadily as we move closer to completing this important addition to our facilities. We are grateful for every hand and heart contributing to the progress of this project.
